CranioSacral

What is the craniosacral System ?

The craniosacral system includes the brain, spinal cord, the cerebrospinal fluid, and the surrounding tissues (membranes) which protect them (‚Craniosacral‘ comes from „cranium“, skull, and „sacrum“).
Just as the heart and lungs have their own inherent rhythm, so does the craniosacral system. When restrictions are impacting cerebrospinal fluid flow and fascial movement, your body systems are unable to function optimally. You also may not feel as healthy and vibrant as desired.

What is craniosacral Therapy ?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on therapy emerged from osteopathy. It acts on the craniosacral and fascial system to facilitate your healing process and help your body to improve naturally.

During the sessions the therapist will check for restrictions in the movement of soft tissues due to trauma or inflammation and then apply a very light pressure to release them. CST has been increasingly used as a preventive and therapeutic measure, allowing people to maintain balance and health.

What to expect ?

Your therapist will use a hands-on approach that will allow them to detect disruptions in the rhythm and help them recognize areas of dysfunction, such as cranial, sutural, membrane and other soft tissue restrictions in the body.

A CST session activates your individual healing process, dissolves traumatic knots and is, in a more general way, about relaxation, energy flow and gentle touch. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Comfortable setting: The room will be quiet and private, with a massage table for you to lie on with your normal clothes.

  • Light touch: The therapist will use very light pressure on your head, spine, pelvis and other body parts to feel for tension and imbalances.

  • Relaxation: Many people find CST very relaxing: In a general way but also as it „unwinds“ blockings in your body.

  • Body sensations: You might feel some tingling, warmth, or other changes in your body as the therapist works.

  • No pain: CST shouldn’t be painful, but you might feel some mild discomfort as your body responds to the treatment.

  • Deep Healing: : CST has the potential to release deep and old tensions and bring you back on a naturally healthy, self-healing path.
